Chicken bhuna

Chicken bhuna is one of the most simple dishes to make, consisting of a supremely delicious and flavourful thick coating sauce which is not too heavy on the stomach.

Tastes best with fluffy basmati rice / butter naan.


YIELD : 4 servings

TOTAL TIME: 30 mins

INGREDIENTS:

  • Chicken (boneless)(skinless) - 500 gms

  • Onions- 2 medium sized (minced) or chopped

  • Red chilli powder- 3/4th tsp

  • Garam masala- 1/2 tsp

  • Tandoori masala -1 tsp (Click here to buy)

  • Coriander power-1 tsp

  • Turmeric powder- 1/2 tsp

  • Salt to taste

  • Vegetable oil- 3 tbsp

Preparation

  1. Heat oil in a large, pan (or wok) and add the chopped onions. Stir and leave to cook over a medium heat for 3-4 minutes.

  2. Once the onions have turned a golden brown colour, add Turmeric, Red chilli powder, Tandoori masala, Coriander powder and Garam masala. Stir and cook for about a minute.

  3. Add the chicken to the pan and coat the pieces in the masala so it’s all nicely covered. Cook over a medium heat, stirring occasionally for 20 minutes, or until the chicken is tender and combined with the thick sauce.

  4. Serve hot with basmati rice or naan!
