Crispy Chilli Garlic Prawns ~


YIELD: 3-4 servings

TOTAL TIME: 30 mins


INGREDIENTS:

  • Prawns (deveined) : 300 gms

  • 1 egg

  • 2 tbsp corn flour

  • 2 tbsp all purpose flour

  • 2 tsp ginger garlic paste

  • 1 tbsp dark soy sauce

  • 1/4th tsp black pepper

For the slurry:

  • 1 tbsp cornflour

  • 1 tbsp water

For the sauce:

  • 2-3 tbsp oil

  • 2 tbsp minced garlic

  • 1/2 tbsp minced ginger

  • 2 spring onions (sliced)

  • 3 green chillies (slit)

  • 1 bell pepper

  • 1/2 tsp black pepper

  • 2 tbsp dark soy sauce

  • 1/2 tbsp red chilli sauce

  • 1/4th cup water

  • 1/4th tsp vinegar

  • Salt to taste

Preparation:


In a bowl add cornflour, all purpose flour, ginger garlic paste,dark soy sauce and black pepper.

Now crack open an egg to the flour mixture and whisk.

Make sure there are no lumps.

Add the deveined prawns to the bowl and mix well.

Heat oil in a pan and add the prawns to it. Let it fry on each side.

Fry till golden brown and keep aside.

Take cornflour in a small bowl and and water to it. Mix well and set aside.

Heat oil in a pan and add minced garlic and ginger. Saute for 1 min.

Add sliced spring onions along with slit green chilies.

Turn the flame to medium and add chopped bell pepper, black pepper. chilli sauce and soy sauce. Mix well.

Add water to the pan and mix. Now add the slurry and fried prawns to the pan.

Mix together and coat the prawns well with the sauce.

Add some salt and vinegar.

Serve immediately.

Serve these as an appetizer / as a light lunch over rice, or with a side of steamed veggies! :)
