Bread: 8 slices (edges cut and halved)
Sugar syrup: 1/4th kg (sugar:250gms in 250ml of water)
Food colourant (orange or red)
Condensed milk: 1/4th cup
Oil: as required
Sliced cashews and whole raisins: 15-20
Cardamom powder (optional)
Cut the bread slices diagonally in half and let them dry for 1-2 hours. (This step is needed so that the bread doesn't absorb too much oil)
Prepare your sugar syrup and add food colour and condensed milk to it. Set aside. Add some cardamom powder if you like.
In a pan add oil and deep fry the bread slices till golden brown. Deep fry the sliced cashews and raisins as well.
In a separate pan add the bread slices and pour the prepared sugar syrup on top. Cook for 2-3 mins. Now add sliced cashews and raisins.
