Ebi Furai (Japanese panko-coated, deep-fried shrimp)

INGREDIENTS:
Shrimp: 1/2 kg
Lime juice: 1 tbsp
Vinegar
Garlic: 1 tbsp (minced)
Salt: 1/2 tsp
Ginger garlic paste: 1/2 tsp
Red chilli powder: 1 tsp
Turmeric powder: 1/4th tsp
All purpose flour: 1 tbsp
Cornstarch: 2 tbsp
Pepper: 1/4th tsp
A pinch of salt
1 egg
Bread crumbs as required
Oil for frying
PREPARATION
Clean the shrimp with vinegar and add lime juice, minced garlic and salt.
Set aside for 45 mins.
Now add ginger garlic paste, red chilli powder and turmeric.
Set aside for 15-20 mins.
For the coating: In a bowl add all purpose flour, cornstarch and pepper along with a pinch of salt.
In a bowl beat 1 egg. Now dip the marinated shrimp in flour, egg and then bread crumbs.
Repeat this step for each shrimp and set aside.
Heat oil in a wok for deep frying.
When the oil is hot fry the shrimp till golden brown and crisp.
Serve hot with chilli sauce and roasted bell peppers.
