YIELD: 3-4 servings

Minced mutton(lamb): 200 gms
Bengal gram (split) : 50 gms
Dried red chillies: 4-5
Garlic: 5 cloves
Coriander seeds: 1 tsp
Cinnamon: 1 stick
Dried and grated coconut: 2 tbsp
Turmeric: 1/4th to 1/2 tsp
Water: 1 cup
Oil as required
Salt to taste
In a blender add red chillies, garlic, coriander seeds, cardamom, cinnamon, coconut and blend to a coarse powder.
Soak the bengal gram in water for around 1 hour.
In a pan on low flame add the minced meat and soaked bengal gram along with the prepared powder. Now add some turmeric, salt and water and let it simmer.
Cook till all the water evaporates and the meat is tender.
Switch off the flame and grind the mixture into a thick paste.
Shape the mixture into patties and shallow fry in oil till crisp and brown.
Serve hot with mint raita and lemon wedges!
