Tandoori Paneer Tikka

A traditional Indian cottage cheese recipe made with a blend of spices slow cooked on the grill to retain a smoky flavour.




  • Paneer/ Cottage Cheese: 300 gms

  • Hung curd: 1/2 cup

  • Ginger garlic paste: 2 tbsp

  • Red chilli powder: 2 tsp

  • Turmeric powder: 1/2 tsp

  • Cumin Powder: 1/2 tsp

  • Garam masala/ Mixed ground spices: 3/4th tsp

  • Lemon juice: 2 tbsp

  • Roasted Gram flour: 1.5 tbsp

  • Crushed black pepper: 1/2 tsp

  • Salt to taste

  • Bell peppers: 1-2 medium sized

  • Onions: 1 medium sized

  • Tomato: 1 (optional)

  • Skewers: 4

  • Cilantro for garnish


  1. Cut the cottage cheese, bell pepper and onion into big pieces and set aside.

  2. In a mixing bowl add curd, ginger garlic paste, and all the mentioned spices. Add lemon juice along with gram flour and make it into a thick paste.

  3. Add the cut vegetables and cottage cheese into the prepared paste and coat them well.

  4. Refrigerate for 30 mins.

  5. Thread the paneer and veggies onto the skewers.

  6. Preheat your grill pan and brush the surface with some cooking oil. Now place the skewers and grill each surface till well cooked.

  7. Garnish with chopped cilantro.

  8. Serve with mint chutney.
